PostRoll is an all-in-one TTRPG app that fuses a tactile and immersive TTRPG-specific social media platform with a virtual tabletop, creative tools, and a marketplace. It’s designed to be the place where your campaigns, characters, worlds, and community live.

Do I need to pay to use it?

There will always be a free tier of PostRoll. You can play, create, and join communities without paying. Pro features are available if you want advanced tools, bigger storage, or marketplace perks.

What systems does it support?

The social and creative sides of PostRoll are entirely system-agnostic, so you can jump straight in and start building and sharing. At the table, PostRoll is built deep for D&D 5e (2014 & 2024) and Daggerheart — full compendiums, sheets, and table-ready cards — with Blades in the Dark support and flexible generic sheets for any system. There are also free public rules references you can link straight into your own wikis, cards, and posts — and more system support is on the roadmap.

Do I need to download anything?

Nope. PostRoll runs in your browser and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile — just log in and create, share and play. Dedicated desktop and mobile apps are on the way if you'd rather have PostRoll in its own window.

Is there a desktop or mobile app?

Accepted Answer

The web app is live now and works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, and phone. Dedicated apps are in active development: a desktop app for Windows and Mac, and mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android coming to the App Store and Google Play. They'll be free, sign in with the same account, keep everything in sync, and let you save worlds for offline use. Can I import my existing characters and content?

Yes — importing is a core feature. Bring characters straight in from D&D Beyond, import whole wikis from Markdown, Word, Obsidian, or LegendKeeper, and upload your own maps, tokens, and art to use across scenes, boards, and cards.

Yes. PostRoll includes Outposts (group spaces), social feeds, chat, and boards. Share your creations, discover content, and collaborate with others right inside the app.

What’s PostRoll’s stance on AI content?

AI can be a useful tool, but too often it gets used to churn out filler that drowns out the good stuff. The real tragedy isn’t a lack of human-made content — it’s that incredible adventures, art, and ideas are buried in private Discords, scattered across subreddits, or hidden in half-forgotten folders. PostRoll is here to change that. We want human-made creations to be easier to share, discover, and celebrate. We believe the spark of imagination is what makes tabletop special, and our mission is to bring that spark to the surface so players and GMs can find it, be inspired by it, and keep the cycle of human creativity alive.

Can I make a character yet?

Early testers will be the first to roll up heroes, villains and everything in between. Join up to try the new sheet design, build character card decks and give feedback before launch.

If I'm playtesting, will my character carry over after launch?

Yes. Anything you create during playtesting — characters, items, notes — will carry over into the live app once we launch.

We have a built-in 3D dice roller with customisation options. You can roll directly from character sheets, chat, or cards. When making cards it automatically adds relevant dice roll buttons to the card based on the content.

Yes — inventory is managed through cards. Each item (weapons, gear, potions, curios) is a card you can drag in and out of your sheet or hand during play.

Yes. Journals and activity feeds are a big part of character sheets in PostRoll. Players can keep private notes, share public journals, or pin session highlights to the campaign log. Think ‘session diary meets scrapbook meets pin board’.

Absolutely. You can explore the marketplace, join Outposts, create characters, and share content even if you’re not currently in an active campaign.

The builder is system-aware. Sheets adapt to the rules you're playing — D&D 5e, Daggerheart, and Blades in the Dark each get their own sheet, and a flexible generic sheet covers everything else.

Can I run a game in PostRoll right now?

Yes! If you sign up for playtesting then you'll be first in line. You can create boards, invite players, and run sessions using the built-in VTT tools. We’re actively testing and refining the experience based on GM feedback.

Yes. Upload your maps, tokens, art, or rules. Early playtests will focus on how those assets are converted into cards and used on boards and campaigns.

Yes — it's one of the pillars. Linked wikis with backlinks and infoboxes, timelines with custom fantasy calendars, nine board types (family trees, relationship webs, quest flows…), world maps with pins and reveals, and a world graph tying entities together. When your world is ready, you can even publish it as a print-ready PDF book.

Every Outpost, campaign, or group comes with built-in fully functional chat server. You can keep planning, scheming, or sharing memes without needing to hop between apps. The chat supports text channels, voice channels, and direct messages, stickers, emojis, GIFs and reactions. Chat servers set up for games have integrated channels for dice rolls, card sharing and session notes.

Yes. You decide what to share: keep it private, share just with your table, or make it public so the community can discover it. Public posts can be remixed, pinned, and reused (with proper credit).
