Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how PostRoll uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage) when you visit our website and app. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
We keep this deliberately simple: we use a first-party consent tool (no third-party consent widget), we don't run advertising or cross-site tracking networks, and analytics stay off until you opt in.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. Some are essential for the site to work (for example, keeping you signed in); others are optional and help us understand how PostRoll is used so we can improve it. "Local storage" is a related browser technology we use for a few lightweight, device-only preferences and anonymous counters.
The categories we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
These are required for PostRoll to function and can't be switched off. They never store advertising data.
- Authentication & security —
sb-*-auth-tokencookies keep you signed in and protect your session. - Your consent choice — the
postroll_consentcookie remembers the cookie preferences you set here, so we don't ask again on every visit. - Checkout — when you buy something, Stripe sets
__stripe_mid/__stripe_sidto process the payment securely and prevent fraud. - Functional preferences — small settings such as your sidebar layout are stored on your device.
Analytics (optional — off by default)
Only used if you accept analytics cookies. These help us see which features are used and where PostRoll can be better. They are privacy-light and never sold or shared with advertisers.
- Amplitude — anonymous product analytics (including session replay of interactions, never keystrokes in sensitive fields).
- Vercel Analytics — aggregate page-performance and traffic measurement.
We also record a first-party page-view count on our marketing pages using an anonymous, device-only id in local storage (no cookie, no cross-site tracking).
Managing your choices
You can change your mind at any time. Use the button below, the Cookie Preferences link in our footer, or Settings → Privacy inside the app.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are needed for sign-in and checkout to work.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change the cookies we use, we'll update this page and ask you to review your choices again.
